A

The process of combining data from multiple prediction market platforms into a unified view. Matchr aggregates markets from Polymarket, Kalshi, and other platforms.
Profiting from price differences of the same asset across different markets. In prediction markets, this means buying on one platform and selling on another when prices diverge.
The lowest price at which someone is willing to sell shares. Also called the “offer price.”
A smart contract that provides liquidity and determines prices algorithmically, rather than through a traditional order book. Some prediction markets use AMMs instead of CLOBs.

B

The highest price at which someone is willing to buy shares.
The difference between the best bid and best ask price. A tighter spread indicates more liquid markets.
Spread = Ask Price - Bid Price

Example: Ask 0.53 - Bid 0.51 = 0.02 spread
A market with only two outcomes: Yes or No. The Yes and No prices should sum to approximately $1.00.
A fee paid to the platform or interface that facilitated a trade. Matchr earns builder fees when routing orders to Polymarket.

C

An order matching system that maintains a list of buy and sell orders, matching them based on price and time priority. Polymarket uses a CLOB.
A percentage indicating how certain our AI is that two markets on different platforms are asking the same question. Higher scores mean higher confidence.
Another term for a prediction market share. Each contract pays 1.00iftheoutcomeoccurs,1.00 if the outcome occurs, 0.00 otherwise.

D

The total amount of orders available at various price levels in the order book. Deeper markets can absorb larger trades with less price impact.
The decline from a peak to a trough in portfolio value. Maximum drawdown is the largest peak-to-trough decline.
Drawdown = (Peak Value - Current Value) / Peak Value

E

A numerical vector representation of text used for semantic similarity. Matchr uses OpenAI embeddings to match markets across platforms.
A real-world occurrence that a prediction market is based on. Events can have one or more markets (outcomes).
The completion of an order. Market orders execute immediately; limit orders execute when the market reaches your price.

F

When an order is executed. A “full fill” means the entire order was executed; a “partial fill” means only part of it was.
An order type that must be executed in full immediately, or cancelled entirely. No partial fills allowed.

G

Transaction fees paid on blockchain networks. On Matchr, gas fees are covered by our infrastructure—you never pay gas directly.
An order type that remains active until it’s filled or you cancel it.

H

The highest value a portfolio or vault has reached. Performance fees are only charged on profits above this mark, ensuring you don’t pay fees on recovering losses.

I

The probability of an outcome implied by its market price. A Yes share trading at $0.65 implies a 65% probability.
Implied Probability = Market Price × 100%
An order type that executes whatever portion is immediately available and cancels the rest.

K

A CFTC-regulated prediction market available to US residents. Matchr integrates with Kalshi for US users.

L

An order to buy or sell at a specific price or better. The order only executes when the market reaches your price.
How easily shares can be bought or sold without significantly affecting the price. High liquidity = easier trading, lower costs.
Owning shares in an outcome. If you’re long “Yes,” you profit if the outcome is Yes.

M

A trader who adds liquidity to the order book by placing limit orders. Makers typically pay lower fees than takers.
An order that executes immediately at the best available price. Fast but may have slippage in thin markets.
Markets on different platforms that our AI has identified as asking essentially the same question.
The midpoint between the best bid and best ask prices.
Mid Price = (Best Bid + Best Ask) / 2

O

A list of all open buy and sell orders for a market, organized by price level.
A possible result of an event. For binary markets, outcomes are typically Yes and No.

P

The net profit or loss on your positions. “Unrealized P&L” is on open positions; “Realized P&L” is from closed positions.
A PostgreSQL extension for vector similarity search. Matchr uses pgvector to find semantically similar markets.
The largest crypto-native prediction market, operating on Polygon. Available globally except US.
Your holdings in a particular market. A position includes the number of shares, average entry price, and unrealized P&L.
The authentication provider Matchr uses for wallet connection and social login.

R

The determination of a market’s outcome after the event occurs. Markets resolve to either Yes or No (for binary markets).
The process of directing orders to the optimal platform for execution based on price, liquidity, and fees.

S

A smart contract wallet that enables advanced features like gasless trading and multi-signature security. Your trading wallet on Matchr is a Safe.
A unit of ownership in a prediction market outcome. Each share is worth 1.00iftheoutcomeoccurs,1.00 if the outcome occurs, 0.00 if it doesn’t.
A measure of risk-adjusted returns. Higher is better.
Sharpe = (Portfolio Return - Risk-Free Rate) / Standard Deviation
Betting against an outcome. If you’re short “Yes,” you profit if the outcome is No.
The difference between the expected price and the actual execution price. Higher in thin markets or for large orders.
Automatically selecting the best execution venue based on price, liquidity, fees, and other factors.
See “Bid-Ask Spread.”

T

A trader who removes liquidity from the order book by executing against existing orders. Takers typically pay higher fees than makers.
The unique identifier for a market position on Polymarket. Each outcome has its own token ID.
An execution strategy that spreads an order over time to minimize market impact.

Profit or loss on open positions that hasn’t been locked in yet. It changes as prices move.
